Client: Body & Soul Foundation
Creative: Prototype Comic Novel
Objectives
In partnership with the national charity ‘Body & Soul’ and research consultancy OPM, Bold Creative have been tasked to create a prototype advisory initative to be used as support for groups of young people living with, or directly affected by HIV and Aids.
Prototype Strategy
Bold are investigating a designed graphic novel and animations dedicated, designed and narrated throughout by the young people at the very centre of the issue.
Working with some of the UK’s leading artists and illustrators, Bold are planning to tackle people’s common, and often ingrained misconceptions of the condition. The novel and animations will powerfully reveal key moments in the lives of those affected, where we’re taken on an incredibly poignant and emotional journey that hopes to be both redemptive and positive about their plight.
The overriding strategy is 3 fold:
1. To build the confidence of those facing the issues.
2. Seed the personal stories and experiences in order to change misperceptions.
3. Directly support those young people coming to terms with the conditions.
Output Ambition
The prototype project will present an inspirational and passionate young person dealing with the challenging condition with empathy, positivity and determination.
A team of distribution and media partners are currently being lined up to help secure awareness in all the relevant places; aiming to be available online, through social networking sites and provided free at key learning and health centres in an agreed region.
