Creative: Hand Washing Information Film

Objectives
Bold Creative was approached to help reinforce infection control methods in a drive to cut infection rates throughout the group’s hospitals.
The campaign was specifically targeted to staff within the hospitals to educate and encourage correct hand decontamination as part of their ‘best practice’ strategy.

Strategy
Bold worked closely with doctors, nurses and members of staff from the Infection Control Team as part of a thorough research and consultation period before creating a series of staff ‘training’ films.
The creative would need to highlight simple procedures with clear instructions on how to increase prevention in the rise of transferable infections including MRSA and C. Difficile.

Output
A two minute film was produced starring the hands of Nurse Roberts, who demonstrated, narrated and described in simple detail the 10 steps and procedures of expert hand cleaning which minimizes the spread of infections from attendee to patient.

Wider Results
The Hand Washing hygiene film is now shown to all the Barts and The London NHS Trusts staff and forms part if the corporate induction, and staff training updates. The film has now become a foundation to training and is available on the Trust’s Intranet for trainers to access.
