Client: Nickleodeon & NSPCC
Creative: 4 documentary animations
Objectives
As part of the annual anti-bullying campaign at the end of November, Nickleodeon approached Bold Creative to help them develop an engaging creative for the national primary school audience in the UK to highlight the impact of bullying and how to deal and combat the emotional effects on their young lives.
Strategy
Bold Creative undertook a series of primary school workshops, across a range of schools nationwide. The children were interviewed and the discussions covered first hand accounts on the different manifestations of bullying in the UK schools’ environment, ranging from the playground to walking home.
Output
After extensive research Bold selected 4 personal accounts from the perspective of the ‘bully’, ‘the bullied’ and the ‘witness to the bullying’, which were then bought to life through a series of 4 short animations. These ran as part of Nickelodeon’s ‘See Something Say Something’ annual CSR campaign, broadcast throughout their schedule in November 2009.
Wider Results
• The campaign gain national coverage on-air reaching the intended audience.
• Bold has since won 3 acclaimed awards for the work with Nickleodeon and NSPCC:
o UNICEF Children’s Award
o ProMAX Gold
o BAFTA for Childrens Shortform
